TEC Student Entrepreneurship connects with early-career research professionals to answer the question, “What can I do with my research?” If you are involved in innovative and solution-based research with the University of Alberta at the undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral, or faculty level, we will help to answer that question.
TEC Student Entrepreneurship provides one-on-one counseling on topics such as intellectual property evaluation and protection, licensing, and market research. Student inventors can be matched with MBA students from the University of Alberta’s School of Business if they are interested in beginning business assessments and commercialization planning. We can also connect you with a mentor who has been where you are now and who has successfully taken research from the lab to the market.
TEC Student Entrepreneurship helps students at all stages of research and innovation. You don’t have to have a product in hand. You don’t even have to have invented a product, necessarily. Think about a problem that your work, studies, or ideas could solve. Maybe you can provide a service, or you’ve come up with a new process innovation.
